Worried by the spate of killings by cultists in Kwara State, the state House of Assembly has called on security agencies to deal with the menace.

The House Leader, Hon. Magaji Abubakar Olawoyin,during the house proceeding moved a motion on the insecurity posed by spate of cultists’ attacks and killings in the state.

Man, 24, arraigned for alleged cultism, possession of weed He said cultists’ activities in the state were endangering the lives of innocent people.

He called on the security agencies to do more in curbing the activities of the cultists.

The house later resolved to call on all the security agencies in the state to be proactive, especially on prevention of crime through appropriate intelligence gathering to address the situation.

It also called on the government to encourage and motivate members of the community security outfits to checkmate insecurity in various communities.

During the session a new member elect for Patigi constituency, Ahmad Rufa’I was sworn in, having won the last election of Patigi constituency and met all the requirements to be sworn in by the Speaker Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi.
