A former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has charged parents and community to pay close attention to their children in these “depressing times”.
The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) presidential candidate in the just concluded election said this in reaction to the recent upsurge of suicide rate among young Nigerians.
According to Atiku in a tweet on Tuesday evening, it is important that parents and community pay close attention to the early signs of depression among the youth ” particularly in these depressing times”, he said.
He tweeted:
The rate of suicide among our youth is worrisome. I believe that as parents and community, we need to pay close attention for early signs of depression among our young people, particularly in these depressing times. -AA
